When I was in HS one of the students had one of these (this was back in 1990 so it was new). If memory serves, he, his father and grandfather were in an Olds ad as he was the third gen Olds owner..

Story time: a friend of my mother has a 1988 model, it was a fine car, until the hydraulic brake pump quit working in 2004. It still sits in his garage, and the interior is now full of boxes, and old computers. I wanted to find out more, so I did some digging and found out that all 1988 cars were coach built by Cars and Concepts, in Michigan. There's only 50. He didn't know there were 50. Two years after I told him that amazing fact...it's still in his garage.

Fix it !

I would, but I have very little mechanical ability, and that complicated brake system is expensive. Like, very expensive. Like, "I might have to live off Easy Mac for a month," expensive.

I actually like these, but I'd rather have a Trofeo.

I would love a triple white Cutlass. Not Cutless, nor Cutmore. Cutlass.

I actually tried living off of Easy Mac for a week. After three days, I felt like I was re-doing Supersize Me... and my mother told me to stop.

I lived off Ramen noodles for a few weeks. Two sodium-filled kidney stones later, NEVER AGAIN.

??
3.4 DOHC was anything but bulletproof. The 2.8/3.1 60-degree engines were excellent if you got one with good intake gaskets but FFS. I had family in GM service departments in the 90s and the 3.4 "X-motor" was the bane of their existence. It would chew up timing belts, which took more than double the labor of a typical v-6 timing belt to replace, and a spark plug service required the removal of the intake manifold. After about 30k miles, many of them had strange idle issues and other weirdness. the 3.4 TDC was a terrible, terrible engine.

A neighbor had one of these when I was growing up. I was always jealous of it as my mom ferried me around in our station wagon.

$10 says the pictured engine won't start. Reason: 3.4 Liter Dual Quad Bomb.

Totally worth it, get cracking. Add some pepper to the Easy Mac and alternate with Tabasco. Tm mix things up.

I was more partial to the Grand Prix headlights. I think they used the same sealed beam. These things were pretty though. Maybe if they had killed off everything else and just kept the supreme we would have Oldsmobile now instead of Buick.
